This policy explains how this website (the "Site") handles personal data. It is written to meet the requirements of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. The Site is operated as an independent, privately owned commercial initiative (the "Operator", "we", "us") and is not connected with HM Government or any public authority.
The Operator is the data controller for personal data submitted through the Site. Contact details for data protection enquiries are published on the home page, and any request may be sent through the enquiry channels shown there.
We only collect what you choose to give us. If you complete the enquiry form we process the name, email address, company name and offer or message details you enter. If you contact us via WhatsApp we process your WhatsApp display name, phone number and the content of your messages. We do not ask for, and ask that you do not send, special category data (such as health or political data) or payment card details.
The enquiry form on this Site does not store your details in a database on our servers. Submitting it composes a pre-filled message and opens WhatsApp so that you can send it to us yourself. Once sent, the message is held in the WhatsApp/Meta messaging service and in our own device or account records.
We use your data to respond to your enquiry, negotiate a possible sale of the domain assets, keep records of that correspondence, and comply with legal or tax obligations. Our lawful bases are: performance of, or steps towards, a contract with you; our legitimate interests in responding to commercial enquiries and protecting our assets; and legal obligation where record-keeping is required. We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not send marketing without your consent.
We may share your data with our hosting and infrastructure providers, the WhatsApp/Meta messaging platform, the independent escrow provider (Saw.com) and the relevant domain registrar where a transaction proceeds, and with our professional advisers or authorities where legally required. We do not sell personal data.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States and the United Arab Emirates. Where that happens we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with appropriate safeguards.
Enquiry correspondence is kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, normally up to 24 months. Where a transaction completes, we keep transaction records for up to six years to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements.
The Site is a static marketing page and does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Strictly necessary cookies or local storage may be used by our hosting platform to deliver and secure the Site. If we introduce analytics or marketing cookies in future we will request your consent first and update this policy.
You have the right to be informed, and to request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent you may withdraw it at any time. To exercise a right, contact us using the details on the home page; we will respond within one month. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we would welcome the chance to resolve matters first.
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, but no internet transmission is entirely secure. The Site is intended for business users and is not directed at children under 16.
